The N52 (B25-B30) BMW's latest and most modern straight-6 engine Its crankcase is made entirely of magnesium-aluminum, a first in the world of engine construction. It is the lightest production engine of its size class in the world, with just 161kg of engine weight, which gives BMW huge advantage in its traditional 50:50 chassis weight distribution design. It includes BMW's unique second generation Valvetronic system and Double Vanos for extreme fuel-efficiency (over 12% fuel savings over the previous generation M54 & increases the extremely high performance. It is the world’s lightest six-cylinder engine. It was awarded as one of Ward's 10 best engines of the year 2006 & 2007 . Third place in 2006 , second now in 2007

The N52 B25 : 2 versions, both displacing 2497cc. The first produces 14 hp @5800 rpm  and the more powerful version 215hp @6500 rpm. The Z4 E85 2.5si is not available in the US Market (2007)

The N52 B30 : BMW's Z4 3.0i & BMW's Z4 3.0si , now in 2007 the only N52 engine fot the E85 & E86 in the US market
